Accessed via Apache Fire Trail or Yavapai Ridge Trail, the Javelina Trail is located near Frey Wash on the eastern edge of Red Rock State Park. Javelina Trail meanders along a ridgeline, rising and falling through interesting red-rock terrain. Prickly pear cactus and manzanita are common along the trail. Wildlife includes javelina, muledeer, quail, and rabbit.
The Javelina Trail is just 1.75 miles and experiences only 70 feet in elevation change; however, due to its location it may be considered anywhere from easy to moderate difficulty.

Facilities: Javelina Trail has restrooms, trailhead water, and a picnic area.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Javelina Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Javelina Trail is open year-round.

Fees: There is a fee to use this trail.

Accessibility: This trail has no handicap access.

Rules: For day use only. Permits are required. No pets, or swimming are allowed.

Directions: To reach Javelina Trail from Sedona, take Hwy. 89A five miles sosuthwest to Lower Red Rock Loop Rd. Take Lower Red Rock Loop Rd. to Red Rock State Visitor Center. From visitor center, take Bunkhouse Trail east to Kingfisher Crossing. Take Kisva Trail north to spur trail leading to Apache Fire Trail, Yavapai Ridge Trail, and Javelina Trail.
