Second Crossing Campground is surrounded by beautiful pine on the East Verde River. Enjoy fishing for trout on the river but check for fishing regulations. Campers may gather firewood.


Facilities: There is no drinking water available at Second Crossing Campground. Other facilities are available in Payson.

Best Time To Visit: Second Crossing Campground is open from May through September.

Fees: No fees are charged for overnight camping.

Accessibility: This campground is not handicap accessible.

Rules: This campground is located within the Tonto National Forest; forest regulations apply. Maximum length of stay is 14 days.

Directions: To get to Second Crossing Campground from Payson go north on State Highway 87 for two miles to Forest Route 199. Go north on 199 for seven miles to the campground.
