Coyote Ridge Trail

Coyote Ridge Trail is a short (0.4 miles), scenic trail that connects Eagle Nest Trail to Apache Fire Trail. It traverses a hillside and joins with the Eagle Nest Trail just above a cliff overlook. Coyote Ridge Trail features photographic, birdwatching, and interpretive opportunities. Vegetation includes cliffrose, mountain mahogany, Mormon tea, and banana yucca. Total elevation change is only 20 feet, making the trail an easy hike.

Facilities: Coyote Ridge Trail offers restrooms and a picnic area.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Coyote Ridge Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Coyote Ridge Trail is open year-round.

Fees: There is a fee charged to use this trail.

Accessibility: This trail has no handicap access.

Rules: For daytime use only. Permits are required. No pets or swimming are allowed.

Directions: To reach Coyote Ridge Trail from Sedona, take Hwy. 89A five miles southwest to Lower Red Rock Loop Rd. Take Lower Red Rock Loop Rd. to Red Rock State Park Visitor Center. From the visitor center, take Bunkhouse Trail and Sentinel Trail south to Kisva Trail. Take Kisva Trail west to Eagle Nest Trail, and Eagle Nest south to Coyote Ridge Trail; or take Kisva Trail east to Apache Fire Trail, and Apache Fire south to Coyote Ridge Trail.
