Cliff Top Nature Trail begins near the Apple Packing Barn at the historic Pendley Homestead within Slide Rock State Park. It travels through a variety of vegetation types and offers scenic overlooks of the Cliff Top Nature Trail below. Interpretive signs discuss the wildlife, vegetation, and geology of Oak Creek Canyon. Notably, a few mature Douglas fir trees grow here at only 4,900 feet, an unusually low elevation for Douglas firs in Arizona. The short distance (0.25 miles) and total elevation change of just 20 feet make this loop trail an easy hike.
