| Facilities: Cayuse Day-Use Area provides 4 picnic tables, restrooms, and drinking water. There is a horses-only watering trough available for equestrians. There may be seasonal water in nearby creeks. Granite Basin Lake has water year-round but access is restricted to horses. Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Cayuse Day-Use Area. Best Time To Visit: Cayuse Day-Use Area is open April 1 through May 14 from 6am to 8pm MST. May 15 through August 14 from 6am to 9pm MST. August 15 through September 30 from 6am to 8pm MST. October 1 through March 31 from 7am to 6pm MST. Fees: A daily parking fee is charged. All Wednesdays are free parking days. Accessibility: Unknown Rules: Cleaning or washing fish, animals, or food in drinking fountains or bathroom sinks is prohibited. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. There is no overnight camping permitted. Directions: To reach Cayuse Day-Use Area from the courthouse in downtown Prescott, take Montezuma Street north. Montezuma will become Whipple Street, and Whipple will become Iron Springs Road. Follow Iron Springs Road to Forest Road 374. Follow 374 to the first dirt road on the right. The dirt road will loop around the day-use area. |
