Blodgett Basin #31 drops 1,700 feet in its 2.5 miles, providing good views of scenic West Clear Creek Canyon along the way. Originally a cattle trail, the route begins in a pinion-juniper flat and switchbacks down a moderately steep slope into the canyon. As it nears Cedar Mountain, the trail becomes indistinct and hard to follow. Trail users should stay between the mountain to the north and a small hill to the south.

The trail becomes more apparent when it starts to descend into the canyon towards its junction with West Clear Creek Trail #17. West Clear Creek offers numerous opportunities for fishing and swimming, but may be difficult to cross during high runoff. Because of this and the total elevation change, the trail may be considered difficult.

Facilities: Blodgett Basin #31 has no facilities.

Fees: No fees are charged to use this trail.

Accessibility: This trail has no handicap access.

Rules: Leashed pets are allowed.

Directions: To reach Blodgett Basin #31 from Cottonwood, turn east on Highway 260; drive about 6.5 miles beyond Camp Verde and turn north (left) onto Forest Road 618. Drive about 7 miles to Forest Road 214; turn east, and drive 4 miles to the trailhead, on the right side of the road just beyond a cattleguard.
