A short, 1.2 miles loop trail, Apache Fire Trail rises an easy 100 feet in elevation as it crosses washes, travels along hillsides, and makes its way to the "House of Apache Fire." The dwelling was built in 1947 by Helen and Jack Frye, who were the developers of Smoke Trail Ranch. The Apache Fire Trail serves as a link between the northern and southern portions of Red Rock State Park. It is part of an extensive network of connecting trails. Interpretive topics include riparian and upper Sonoran vegetation communities, regional geology, and cultural history of the area. Trail users will be rewarded by dramatic views of the Oak Creek area.
