Roosevelt Lake, at 2,151 feet elevation, is an ideal location for boating, camping, fishing, picnicking, water-play, wildlife viewing, and hiking. Present fish species include largemouth and smallmouth bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, bluegill, crappie and carp.
Several boat-launching sites are available on the lake with paved ramps. When the lake is low, launch ramps may be closed. There is a full service marina is on site, as well as fish cleaning stations and a nearby campground.

Facilities: Drinking water and restrooms are available at Roosevelt Lake. Nearest commercial services and supplies are in Roosevelt, Punkin Center, Globe, or Payson.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Roosevelt Lake.

Best Time To Visit: Roosevelt Lake is open year round, except where posted "Closed Entry" on the Tonto Creek arm of the lake from November 15 to February 15 for wildlife protection.

Fees: Daily use and campground fees apply.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Waters near developed sites and many coves are "No Wake" areas. Please use trash receptacles when available. Rules and regulations are posted at all fee station areas. Please read and observe.

Directions: To get to Roosevelt Lake from Payson: start out going southwest AZ-87 to I-10.

To get to Roosevelt Lake from Mesa: take State Highway 87 (Beeline Highway) north for about 60 miles to the junction of State Hwy. 87 and State Hwy. 188. Turn right and follow State Hwy.188 for 26 miles to the lake. The entire route is paved.
