Reynolds Creek Trail is a 3.5-mile moderate trail, climbing 1,000 feet in elevation from 6,200. This trail offers access to Sierra Ancha Wilderness and many scenic views. The trail crosses Reynolds Creek several times and comes across the scenic Reynolds Creek Falls, and vistas of western Sierra Ancha Mountains and canyon rim rock. The wildlife in the area includes whitetail deer, elk, wild turkey and mountain lion. Vegetation includes Ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, Aspen, Gamble oak and oak brush, Arizona alder, narrow leaf cottonwood and inland boxelder.


Facilities: Campsites are available along Reynolds Creek and at the Reynolds and Murphy Trailheads.

Best Time To Visit: Reynolds Creek Trail is normally open early spring through late fall.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Closed to all motorized equipment, bike or other mechanical transport.

Directions: To reach Reynolds Creek Trail from Payson: start out going North on Beeline Highway, turn right on AZ-260. Turn right on Chamberlain Trail, turn right on AZ-288.(Young) From Young: Travel south on State Highway 288 for about 18 miles to Reynolds Creek. Take Reynolds Creek Road (Forest Road #410) and drive 4 miles to the trailhead.
