The Nature Conservancy's Ramsey Canyon Preserve is renowned for its outstanding scenic beauty and the diversity of its plant and animal life, including up to 14 species of hummingbirds.
A spring-fed stream, mile high elevation, and high canyon walls typically mean temperatures 10-15 degrees cooler than Phoenix or Tucson.
The preserve itself features a pollinator garden, bookstore, hiking along the Hamburg Trail, and a Visitor Center with interpretive exhibits.


Facilities: Facilities include picnicking, and camping are available at Ramsey Canyon Preserve.

Best Time To Visit: Ramsey Canyon Preserve is open every day of the year except on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. From November through February, Ramsey Canyon hours are: 9 AM to 4 PM. From March through October, Ramsey Canyon hours are: 8 AM to 5 PM.

Fees: A general admission fee is charged to visit Ramsey Canyon Preserve.

Accessibility: Ramsey Canyon Preserve is completely handicapped accessible.

Rules: The parking lot will not accommodate RVs or buses. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the preserve.

Directions: To reach Ramsey Canyon Preserve, From I-10: Exit on Highway 90 (Sierra Vista/Ft Huachuca exit) and travel approximately 30 miles to Sierra Vista. Continue south on Highway 92 another 6 miles to Ramsey Canyon Road. Turn right (west) on Ramsey Canyon Road, and follow four miles to the Inn.
