At elevation 6,800 feet, much of the area surrounding the 80 acres of Rainbow Lake is private property, so respect other's boundaries. Much of the shoreline is weedy, making a boat almost a necessity. Try shore fishing off the north or west ends. A new boat ramp, car-top boat launching area, courtesy dock, restrooms, and a parking area have been recently added. The lake is a popular fishing hole for bass, trout, catfish, and bluegill. During the winter, bald eagles are common around the lake. Campgrounds in the area of Rainbow Lake usually are full in summer.

Directions: To reach Rainbow Lake from Show Low: start out going west on US-60, turn right on White Mountain Road/AZ-260. turn right on Woodland Road, Turn right on Homestead Road. Turn right on Rodeo Road, turn left on west Lane Circle.
