From the trailhead at Walker Rd., the difficult Ranch Trail #62 winds 3.2 miles through pinon pine, manzanita, mountain mahogany, and low-growing oak. Ranch Trail #62 climbs 700 feet in 2.7 miles to the Trail #26 junction, offering panoramic views to the east-northeast of Lynx Lake, Lynx Creek, Prescott Valley, and distant mountain ranges.

From Trail #26, the trail ascends another 200 feet over 0.5 miles, ending in ponderosa pine at its junction with Trail #9854.
