Located atop Mingus Mountain at 7,000 feet in ponderosa pines, this family campground offers you cool summertime temperatures and fairly easy access via a paved and winding mountain road.
Potato Patch Campground consists of two loops. Loop A has 28 campsites. Three of the campsites are accessible to the disabled. One campsite is a multiple family unit that has space for four vehicles. Two accessible toilets are located in this loop, and water is available by the toilets. Loop A is open to tent camping and the trees are larger.
Loop B has 12 units designed to accommodate up to 40 foot long recreational vehicles. Two of the units are accessible to the disabled. Electricity is available at each camp unit. One accessible toilet is in Loop B and water is available at the toilet. There are not a lot of large trees in Loop B and there is no tent camping in this loop.

Facilities: Restrooms and drinking water is available at Potato Patch Family Campground as well as picnic tables, fire rings, and trash cans.

Best Time To Visit: Potato Patch is a seasonal campground which is open May 1 through October 30.

Fees: A nightly camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: Three sites and two toilets on loop A are accessible to the handicapped. Two sites and one toilet on loop B are accessible.

Rules: Maximum length of stay is 14 days.

Directions: To reach Potato Patch Family Campground from Prescott, take U.S. Highway 89 north through the Granite Dells, turn right onto Pioneer Parkway and travel approximately 20 miles to the top of Mingus Mountain. Potato Patch Campground entrance will be on the left at the summit on Forest Road 106.

To reach Potato Patch Family Campground from Cottonwood, turn left at the junction of U.S. Highway 260 and U.S. Highway 89A, and follow the paved and winding mountain road through the town of Jerome up to the summit on Mingus Mountain. The campground turnoff will be on the right, which is Forest Road 106.
