Nearby upper and lower Lake Mary, Ashurst, Marshall, and Kinnikinick lakes, serve as a recreational focus for the 46 sites of Pine Grove Campground. Pinegrove Campground is spread out through a cool stand of poderosa pines bordered by high country meadows.
Pine Grove Campground is suitable for tents and can accomodate large RVs and motorhomes. The campground is fully paved. Elevation is 6,900 feet.
The campground offers an ampitheater with weekly Ranger-led talks during the summer season.
Nearby lakes are stocked with trout, bass, and channel catfish. Upper Lake Mary is popular with power boaters, and Ashurst Lake attracts a following of windsurfers along with its anglers and boaters. Ashurst Lake offers fishing for Northern Pike.
The lakes are used as a stopover for migrating waterfowl, a wintering site for rare bald eagles, and a feeding ground for resident ospreys. The area is home to a considerable number of elk and mule deer as well.


Facilities: Restrooms, drinking water, trash, picnic tables, stand barbeques, and fire rings are provided at Pine Grove Campground. There are also coin-operated showers and an RV dump.

Best Time To Visit: Pine Grove Campground is generally open early May to mid-October, weather permitting.

Fees: An overnight camping fee applies which includes 1 vehicle and a maximum of 8 people. Additional fees are charged per vehicle.

Accessibility: Restrooms and showers are accessible. There are 16 accessible sites. Handicapped fishing access is available at Lake Mary Narrows.

Rules: Pets must always be restrained or on a leash. No horses are allowed in the campground. Motorbikes or ATVs may only be used for entering or leaving campsite. There is a 14 day camping limit.

Directions: To reach Pine Grove Campground from Flagstaff, drive 19 miles south on Forest Highway 3 (Lake Mary Road) to Pine Grove Campground.
