| Facilities: Mingus Mountain Campground is nearby providing camping, toilets, and water. Best Time To Visit: North Mingus Trail is open spring, summer, and fall. Fees: No fees are charged. Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible. Rules: The use of any mechanized equipment including bicycles is prohibited on this trail - hiking and horseback riding only. Directions: To reach North Mingus Trail from Prescott, travel east on Highway 89A, at the summit north of Mingus Mountain, take Forest Road 104 south for approximately 2.6 miles to the Mingus Mountain campground. At the campground take the left fork road to the hand glider site where the trailhead is located. The north trailhead is approached from Highway 89A at Mescal Tank. Visitors will recognize the wide pulloff from the highway since it is just past the sign announcing the boarder of the Prescott National Forest, when approaching this sign from Jerome.
