Needle Rock Campground is located near a rocky beach on the Verde River. Views of unusual rock formations can be seen here. Good fishing opportunities exist in the nearby Bartlett Reservoir. The area is a good spot for bird watching, some of the birds seen include bald eagles and great blue herons.
This campground has 10 single site and is for the primitive camper.


Facilities: No drinking water is available at Needle Rock Campground. Facilities can be found in Carefree.

Best Time To Visit: Needle Rock Campground is open year round.

Fees: An overnight camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: This campground is handicap accessible.

Rules: This campground is located within the Tonto National Forest; forest regulations apply. Maximum length of stay is 14 days.

Directions: To reach Needle Rock Campground from Carefree, go south on Scottsdale Road six miles to Dynamite Road/Rio Verde Drive. Go east 16 miles to Forest Route 20. Go north three miles to the campground.
