Mather Campground is operated by the National Park Service. The campground is located in Grand Canyon Village. There are a total of 327 sites available to tents and RVs up to 30 feet.
Mather Campground offers tent and RV camping with no hook-ups. Almost all of the RV spaces are pull-through.
There is one loop in the campground which is a "generator free zone" - Pine Loop. Pine Loop (sites 265-319) are located in the tent only area.
Trailer Village, located next to us can accommodate larger RVs and trailers; they also have hookups.
The terrain here is hard and rocky, sleeping pads are suggested and leveling equipment for RV's is recommended.
Hiker/biker sites are available for visitors arriving on foot or by bicycle, inquire at the Mather Campground office upon arrival.
A maximum of two vehicles and six people are allowed per site. A vehicle that is towing a trailer, pop-up, tent trailer, fifth wheel, or a motor home pulling a vehicle is considered two vehicles.
Group sites are also available with a maximum of 50 people and three vehicles per group site.

Facilities: Flush toilets and fresh water throughout Mather Campground, and also a free dump station. Campsites include a fire ring with cooking grate, a picnic table, parking space, and room for up to 3 tents.

Best Time To Visit: Mather Campground is open year round. During the winter, from mid-November through February 28, reservations are not available at Mather Campground. Family and group campsites are available at a discount. This is on a first-come first-served basis. There is a self-pay machine at the campground office.

Fees: A nightly camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: Accessible campsites and restrooms are available.

Rules: Pets are allowed, but must be leashed at all times, and may not be left unattended. Wood and charcoal fires permitted in provided campsite grills only. No gathering of down wood, wood may be purchased at the general store.

Generator use is allowed during the hours of 8AM - 10AM and 6PM - 8PM only.

Directions: To reach Mather Campground from the South Entrance Station to the Grand Canyon, drive northward on the South Entrance Road, passing East Rim Drive and turning westward on West Rim Drive. Continue around the bend to the campground access road immediately before reaching Park Headquarters and the Visitor Center.

Reservations: Reservations for Mather Campground are strongly recommended from April through November. Sites may be reserved up to five months in advance. From December through March, campsites are on a first-come first-served basis.
