Lake View Trail is a moderate, 2-mile hike that climbs gradually through a stand of ponderosa pines, to the top of a rugged rock outcrop that stands high above the surrounding countryside. From here there are views of Mormon Lake, southeast of Flagstaff. This rocky promontory offers panoramic views of lake and meadow, forests and mountains with much distinct desert plant life.
The trail gains 200 feet in elevation, from a beginning elevation of 7,200 feet. The trail is well maintained and may take 1.5 hours to complete.
