Kinnikinick Lake is an open country body of water where people come to camp and fish for rainbow trout and channel catfish. The Arizona Game and Fish Department stocks the lake during the summer months.
The surrounding area also provides excellent opportunities for wildlife watching, with good populations of elk and a smaller number of antelope. In fall and winter visitors may also see some bald eagles.
The San Francisco Peaks stand on the horizon, and prairies, pinyons and junipers surround the lake, making it a picturesque place to enjoy canoeing, photography, fishing, or camping.

Facilities: There are 18 single unit campsites with tables, toilets, drinking water, fire rings, and cooking grills at the campground nearby.
