Houston Mesa Equestrian Campground is used primarily as a horse camp facility, but is also available to RVs and tent campers.

Houston Mesa Loop Trail is a nine-mile round trip through a pinyon and juniper woodland and can be accessed from the Horse Camp.

There are 30 family sites and 2 group sites available at Houston Mesa Equestrian Campground. Also available are corrals.

Showers, an RV dump station, interpretive programs, and the Houston Mesa Interpretive Trail are available nearby.

Facilities: Houston Mesa Equestrian Campground offers potable water and flush toilets. Campsites have picnic tables and fire rings.

Best Time To Visit: This campground is open from early February through November, weather permitting.

Fees: An overnight camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: This campground is handicap accessible.

Rules: Stay limit 14 days, only horse trailers under 40'. Ten people maximum in family units.

Directions: Houston Mesa Equestrian Campground is located on the north end of Payson on State Highway 87.

Reservations: Reservations are not accepted.
