Horseshoe campground is located along the Verde River. Good fishing opportunities for catfish, crappie, blue gill, and bass are available in nearby Horseshoe Reservoir. The area is a good spot for bird watching, bald eagles and great blue herons are a few of the birds seen at the campground.
This campground is for the primitive camper, and has 12 single sites.


Facilities: No drinking water available. Facilities can be found in Carefree before departure.

Best Time To Visit: This campground is open year-round.

Fees: An overnight camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: This campground is not handicap accessible.

Rules: There are a variety of rules to consider when visiting a National Forest. Please contact the local Forest Ranger for more specific information.

Maximum length of stay is 14 days.

Directions: From Carefree go East on Cave Creek Road 5 miles to Horseshoe Dam Road. Go Northeast on Horseshoe Dam Road 14 miles to the campground.
