Hell's Hole Trail is a very difficult 5.3-mile hike, climbing to 5,480 feet in elevation. From Reynolds Trailhead, Hell's Hole Trail climbs about 200 feet within the first mile, then drops to Workman Creek and continues west. Once at the top, the trail drops back into Workman Creek and Hell's Hole. This trail overlooks both Rose and Reynolds Creeks, and offers views of the beautiful Salome Wilderness. Portions of this trail are in the Salome Wilderness and special care is required of hikers and riders. Use of horses on this trail is discouraged; it can be hazardous for them and there is no place for them at the end of the trail.

Rules: Use of any mechanized or motorized is prohibited on this trail.

Directions: To reach Hell's Hole Trail from Payson take AZ 260 east to Chamberlain Trail and turn right (south). Follow Chamberlain Trail to AZ-288 and turn right (south) through Young Arizona. Continue to travel south on AZ Highway 288 for about 18 miles to Reynolds Creek. Take Reynolds Creek Road (Forest Road #410) and drive 4 miles to the Reynolds trailhead.
