Hazlet Hollow Family Campground is a relatively small, semi-primitive campground in the southern end of the Bradshaw Mountains in the Horsethief Basin Area. The elevation is just under 6,000 feet. Ponderosa pine is the dominant vegetation type in the area.
This is an old campground, but one of the most attractive and well developed areas in the southern Bradshaw Mountains. Most of the walls and walks throughout the campground were built of stone during the 1930s by the Civil Conservation Corp (CCC).
The campground is close to trailheads for Castle Creek Trail #239, Twin Peaks Trail #240, Kentuck Trail #217, East Fort Trail #31 and there are attractive day hikes in vicinity. The campground is also close to Horsethief Basin Lake.
There are also 3-sided wooden camping shelters with concrete floors.
Each camp site usually accommodates one vehicle towing a camp trailer plus one additional vehicle (there is a charge for additional vehicle). Vehicles must be parked in space provided on site - not along side the road. Depending on the site, trailers between 22 feet to 40 feet in length can be accommodated.
Campsites are designed for 5 people; a maximum of 10 is allowed only to accommodate a single large family.
