Haigler Creek offers camping, picnicking, water-play, and fishing. The Arizona Game and Fish Department stocks the creek in mid-April with rainbow trout, and stocks on a regular basis until late August. Other fish species include the long-fin dace, desert sucker, and the sonora sucker.


Facilities: There are no facilities on Haigler Creek.

Best Time To Visit: Haigler Creek is open April through November for visitors.

Rules: Roads leading to the creek should not be attempted without a four-wheel-drive. PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT!

Directions: To reach Haigler Creek from Payson, travel east for 24 miles on State Hwy. 260. Turn right on Forest Road 291 (unpaved) and travel 3 miles to Forest Road 200; turn right on Forest Road 200 (unpaved). Travel on Forest Road 200 for 5 miles. Take trail for 1/4 miles to the creek.
