| Facilities: Groom Creek Horse Camp Family Campground has 4 vault toilets, picnic tables, grills, drinking water, and 1 horse tether for each unit. The group areas have tables, stand-up grills, and fire rings.This campground does not have any recreational vehicle hookups, dump stations or shower facilities. Best Time To Visit: The Groom Creek Horse Camp Family Campground is open May through October. Fees: An overnight camping fee is charged. Day use charges do apply. Accessibility: This campground is accessible for disabled persons. Rules: A horse is required to use the campground. Only 4 horses allowed in each camp unit. Two horses must be tied to the tether lines provided; the other two may be tied to personal trailers or vehicles. There is a stay limit of 14 days. This campground is located in the Prescott National Forest; forest regulations apply.Directions: To reach Groom Creek Horse Camp Family Campground from downtown Prescott, take Gurley Street east to Mt. Vernon Avenue. Take Mt. Vernon (Senator Highway, Forest Road 52) south for approximately 6.5 miles to Groom Creek. The Horse Camp is just 0.7 miles south of the center of Groom Creek. Access is by gravel road. The campground surface itself is gravel roads.
