The Ghost of the Coyote Trail covers more than fifteen miles of the most beautiful pinon-juniper forest in the district. Fascinating plants here include several types of cacti, yucca, agave, wildflowers, Utah and Alligator Juniper, as well as plenty of pinon pine trees. There are several sites in the area where evidence of past occupation may be found, such as pottery shards, stone tools, and the foundations of dwellings.


Facilities: There are no facilities provided at the Ghost of the Coyote Trail.

Best Time To Visit: The Ghost of the Coyote Trail is open from early spring to early winter

Fees: There are no use fees associated with this trail.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Federal law prohibits the excavation or removal of artifacts from these sites.

Directions: To reach the Ghost of the Coyote Trail from Show Low Post Office drive west on State Highway 260 8.1 miles. Turn right onto Burton Road. Drive 1.1 miles north. Trailhead is on the left just past cattle guard.
