The 9 miles of Boneyard Creek is at 8,000 feet elevation. Boneyard Creek is just north of the Black River crossing at East Fork. Boneyard is just a small creek with small rainbow and brook trout. There are more of these smaller creeks in the vicinity of Hannagan Meadow, but fish of any size are doubtful. These streams are nice picnic areas or photo subjects, though.


Facilities: There are no facilities available at Boneyard Creek.

Accessibility: This creek is not handicap accessible.

Rules: This creek is within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest; forest regulations apply. Primitive camping is allowed.

Directions: To reach Boneyard Creek from Springerville, travel south on U.S. Highway 191 to Forest Road 249.Follow forest road 249 north of Alpine off U.S. 191.
