Dogtown Lake Campground got its name from the extensive prairie dog towns that once covered open areas near the lake. In spite of the name, this medium-sized body of water is actually surrounded by trees. Today, visitors will find fewer prairie dogs than forest visitors, who've come to camp and fish for the trout, crappies, and channel cats stocked here.
There are 52 campsites with picnic tables, tent pads, and fire rings; 48 single family sites, and 4 double family sites.
There is also 1 group campsite with ramada and picnic tables, 3 barbeque grills, adjacent outdoor stone fireplace, group fire ring and benches, and 9 individual campsites around perimeter with tables, tent pads, and fire rings.
Dogtown Campground also offers a nature trail, a dump station located on site, a picnic ramada with barbeque grills and tables. The adjacent lake offers a small boat launch ramp. Tents, trailers, and motorhomes up to 35 feet can be accommodated, but no utility hookups are available. There is a campground host on-site available to assist campers in finding a suitable campsite.

Facilities: Pit toilets and water faucets are scattered throughout Dogtown Lake Campground. Water is not available during winter months. There are also garbage bins and recycle bins available.
Each campsite offers a picnic table and fire ring.
