The Mesa Chamber of Commerce
The Peoria Central School is an early example of Mission Revival architecture. This two-room masonry school was built in 1906 to accommodate Peoria's growing population and is the oldest standing schoolhouse in the Peoria District. The main architectural features are the curvilinear parapet, original 8-light double hung counter balance windows, 14' ceilings, and floors from apple wood. The museum currently displays photographs, artifacts, maps and written history of the pioneer families who founded and developed this rose, alfalfa and cotton producing area now known as Peoria.
