The Williams Visitor Center & Museum provides quality interactive exhibits that explain the history and origin of Williams, the prehistory of the area, Route 66, forest ecosystems, fire ecology and water conservation. A "Kids' Corner" offers activities for the family. The building itself has an interesting history as the Santa Fe Railway depot for Williams and the Grand Canyon. Built of brick in 1901 it was later moved across the tracks for use as a freight depot. Restored in 1994, the Williams Visitor Center & Museum has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
