Christopher Creek, located 22 miles east of Payson, offers camping, fishing, picnicking, and water-play to its' visitors. The AZ Game and Fish Department introduce rainbow trout sport fish here.

Best Time To Visit: Christopher Creek is open April through September. Fishing is at its best in May and June, prior to hot weather.

Rules: This creek is located within the Tonto National Forest; forest regulations apply. Recreation site has a seven-day stay limit. PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT!

Directions: To reach Christopher Creek from Payson, travel 22 miles east of Payson on State Highway 260 (past Christopher Creek Campground) to Forest Road 284 and turn left. Follow Forest Road 284 to its end; it is a short hike to the creek.
