Alderwood Campground is located on Haigler Creek in a beautiful water-chiseled canyon. Popular for many water-based activities such as trout fishing and lounging about at swimming holes, this campground receives only light use and can be appreciated for its solitude. This campground is well shaded, and primitive. Campsites are dispersed.


Facilities: Restrooms are provided at the Alderwood Campground.

Best Time To Visit: Alderwood Campground is open from April through November.

Fees: This campground charges no fees.

Accessibility: This area is not handicapped-accessible.

Rules: Pets must be restrained or on a leash at all times. Maximum length of stay is 14 days.

Directions: To reach Alderwood Campground from Payson, travel east for 24 miles on State Highway #260. Turn right on Colcord Road (Forest Road #291) and travel 3 miles to Forest Road #200. Turn right on Forest Road #200 and travel for 6 miles, through Haigler Recreation Site, to Forest Road #200A. Turn right and follow this unpaved road for .5 miles to the site.
