Most people come to Jacob Lake Campground because it is located on the main access route to the Grand Canyon's North Rim, which is 44 miles to the south of the campground. However, campers at Jacob Lake don't have to drive at all to take advantage of excellent opportunities for hiking, sightseeing, and wildlife viewing.
Jacob Lake Campground offers 51 campsites for tents and RVs.


Facilities: Jacob Lake Campground offers potable water, vault toilets, picnic tables and fire rings.

Best Time To Visit: Jacob Lake Campground is open mid-May through mid-October, weather permitting. Open season can vary depending on weather, snowfall and road access. During the summer months, Jacob Lake Campground is generally full before mid-afternoon due to the number of overflow campers from the North Rim and Demotte campgrounds.

Fees: A nightly camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: Areas of the campground are accessible.

Rules: Check out time for the campground is 2 p.m. Pets are welcome at Jacob Lake Campground but must be kept on a leash. It is strictly forbidden to drain wastewater onto the ground. All campgrounds limit campers to a 14-day stay.

Directions: Jacob Lake Campground is located 30 miles south and east of Fredonia at the intersection of US 89A and AZ 67, which are both paved highways.

Reservations: Campsites at Jacob Lake Campground are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No advance reservations are available for single sites. Reservations can ONLY be made for Jacob Lake Group Campground.
