Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve
As many as 4,000 bald eagles gather here from late October through February, attracted by rich salmon runs at the confluence of the Tsirku and Chilkat Rivers. Visitors may also spot brown and black bears, moose, mountain goats, river otters, wolves, wolverines, and coyotes.

Alaska Raptor Center
There are over 20 birds currently in the center, including bald and golden eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls.

Bartlett Cove Campground
This primitive campsite is located on the Bartlett Cove and sees little traffic. It contains 35 individual camping sites.

Bartlett River Trail
This five mile trail is rated "easy", although visitors may get muddy depending on the weather conditions.

Chilkat Campgrounds
The campground offers 15 individual camping sites, and sits in a mixed forest of evergreens and deciduous trees at the edge of Chilkat Inlet.

Chilkat State Park
This park offers a log cabin visitor center, 15-site campground, picnic area, boat launch and trails. The campground sits in a mixed forest of evergreens and deciduous trees at the edge of Chilkat Inlet. The boat launch provides access to the inlet and the run of king salmon in early June. The visitor center offers incredible views of Chilkat Inlet and Rainbow and Davidson glaciers.

Chilkoot Lake
This lake offers some of the best salmon fishing in Southeast Alaska, with four salmon runs, starting in mid-June and ending in mid-October.

Chilkoot Lake Campground
Park facilities include picnic shelters, and boat launch. The 32-site campground sits amid a beautiful stand of Sitka spruce.

Forest Loop Trail
This one mile trail is rated "easy", and has a couple of benches along the way.

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve has snow-capped mountain ranges rising to over 15,000 feet.

Point Bridget State Park
The park consists of over 2,800 acres of open forest, rocky beaches and meadowlands. Hiking, wildlife viewing, and bird watching are all popular activities at this state park.

Point Bridget Trail
This round trip seven mile trail should take the average hiking 7 hours to complete. It starts at the trailhead by the highway, and will end at Point Bridget.

Portage Cove Campground
Portage Cove State Recreation Site sits on the water's edge near downtown Haines and offers a wonderful view of the Inlet and surrounding mountains. There are nine campsites, but only for bicycle or walk-in camping.

Seduction Point Trail
This trail is 7 miles long one-way, and there is a camping area at the end of the trail.

Tongass National Forest
The Tongass is the largest forest in the National Forest System, covering a land area the size of New Jersey. There are a variety of recreational activities to do in this forest.
