Return to Top of Page Camping In State Parks Chugach State Park Beyond the foothills at Anchorage's edge lies the third largest state park in America -a half-million acres of some of the most accessible hiking, skiing, camping, wildlife viewing, snowmobiling, rafting, and climbing in Alaska. Over 100 campsites are available at the Chugach State Park. Return to Top of Page RV, Developed Bird Creek Campground This campground contains 27 individual camping sites each equipped with picnic tables and fire pits. Bird Creek Campground Overflow The Bird Creek Campground Overflow contains 20 sites with picnic tables, fire pits, water, and restrooms. Eagle River Campground The Eagle River Campground contains 57 individual camping sites with picnic tables, fire pits, water, flush toilets and a dump station. Eklutna Lake Campground Eklutna Lake Campground has 50 campsites. Interpretive displays and a telescope for viewing wildlife are also available. Quartz Creek Campground Quartz Creek Campground is situated on Kenai Lake in Cooper landing, about 100 miles south of Anchorage, Alaska. There are 45 individual campsites here. Russian River Campground The Russian River Campground is a large campground with 84 individual camping sites, paved roads and spurs, and no RV hookups. This campground provides a view of the mountains and excellent fishing. Williwaw Campground The Williwaw Campground is adjacent to Williwaw Creek, which is a popular viewing location for Salmon in August. The Begich Boggs Visitor Center is nearby and provides a nice spot for glacier viewing. This campground is located within the Chugach National Forest. Ptarmigan Creek Campground The Ptarmigan Creek Campground is located in a wooded area with mountain views.
