Eklutna Historical Park was established in 1990 to preserve the heritage and traditions of the Athabascan people, and to portray the rapidly disappearing lifestyles of the Dena'ina Athabascan Indians in Southcentral Alaska. May 2004 marked the beginning of 15th years of providing tours to the public.
Dating back to 1650, Eklutna is the oldest continually inhabited Athabascan site in the Anchorage vicinity. It is located at the junction of several traditional Indian trails.
