This popular 1.5 mile trail has an elevation change of 500 feet, and gently climbs through the forest and over a low ridge. This trail then passes two small lakes where common loons and blueberries are plentiful (August). The trail meanders through cottonwoods and ends at the China Poot Lake Campsite and inlet stream.


Facilities: Water can be found at the trailhead, and also at China Poot Lake.

Best Time To Visit: This Park is open from June to September.

Rules: There are a variety of rules at the Kachemak Bay State Park, concerning everything from private property, pets, firearms, vehicles, mudflats, gold panning and more. Please contact the Ranger Districts for more specific information.

Directions: Access to the park is by boat or airplane, as there are no roads to the park. Air charters, water taxi services, and boat rentals are available in Homer.
