Located south of Anchorage near the town of Girdwood, this small campground contains over 50 individual camping sites. The Williwaw Campground is adjacent to Williwaw Creek, which is a popular viewing location for Salmon in August. The Begich Boggs Visitor Center is nearby and provides a nice spot for glacier viewing.

Facilities: The Williwaw Campground provides restrooms and water.

Reservations: Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance.

Best Time To Visit: The campground is typically open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.

Fees: An overnight camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: There are many camping sites at the Williwaw Campground that are handicapped accessible. Please contact the Ranger District for more specific information.

Rules: There are a variety of rules at the Chugach National Forest, concerning everything from horses, pets, firearms, vehicles, mudflats, gold panning and more. Please contact the Ranger District for more specific information.

Directions: From Anchorage go 55 miles south on Seward Highway to Portage Glacier Road (milepost 78.9) The campground is located at mile 4.1 of the Portage Glacier Road.
